Forever Alone?

I wish it was normal for people to eat by themselves at a fancy restaurant. Or any restaurant. She wouldn’t be judged by the waiter and people glancing at her table as they walked by. They wouldn’t mistakenly ask
“Are you waiting for someone?” No, the answer’s no.

What if you were walking down a street, by yourself, in the city, you pass by a yummy looking restaurant, and it’s around dinnertime. Are you going to go ahead and eat there? Or be a lonely soul and buy some takeout for an at-home meal? If you’re like me, you’d walk right in and not give a damn about what others think. But I’ve learned freshman year of college, since all freshmen are required to have a meal plan, that there are many who, if faced with eating by themselves in the dining hall or eating by themselves in their room, would choose the latter option.

Or maybe, instead of popping into that random yummy restaurant by yourself, you opt instead to gather some friends to go there another time. It’s not like the restaurant is moving anytime soon. But sometimes I just wish everyone can eat at a great restaurant whenever they want to, especially if they live alone.

College Life Lesson #1: If you have perishable food, eat ALL of it first!

…even if you have a meal plan!

I noticed last week that my two 1 quart containers of good soup and a some baked goods in Tupperware were starting to go bad, but I was too lazy and didn’t get rid of them until an hour ago (basically 2 weeks later). Since I knew they smell really bad, I decided to dump them in the large dumpster outside my dorm >:D It was 1AM, so no one noticed me, but wow, it was the absolute WORST things I’ve ever smelled in my LIFE. It basically smelled like extremely horrible vomit. And then I washed all of them twice, but I think I’ll clean them again tomorrow. I think I’ll keep my window open tonight so that my room won’t stink tomorrow morning. I really hate how food goes bad if you don’t eat it within a week :(

ughhhh, just fyi, I have a bad sense of smell, so I can only imagine how bad it would be for people with good sense of smell.
